Trim video online for free: choose a start and end point and download just that part as MP4. Fast, private and without a watermark.
When possible the video is copied, not re-compressed, so trimming is very fast and the picture quality stays exactly the same.
Play the video and press “Set start here” and “Set end here” at the right moment, or type exact times in seconds.
Trim videos in Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox on a computer, or in Chrome or Safari on Android and iPhone.
Your video is cut on your own device and never uploaded. The result has no logo or watermark.
VidHaul’s video cutter lets you trim any clip down to the part that matters, right in your browser. Phone recordings often start with a few seconds of fumbling and end with a shot of the floor; screen recordings include the moment you clicked Record; long videos hide one great scene in the middle. With this online video cutter you set a start and an end point and download only that section as an MP4, with no app to install, no account and no watermark.
Your file is not uploaded. The trimming happens on your own computer or phone, so it is quick even on a slow connection, and private videos stay private.
Most video editors decode and re-encode the whole clip when you trim it. That takes time and adds a little quality loss every time. VidHaul’s video trimmer copies the original video data directly when it can, without re-encoding. The result has exactly the same quality as your source, and even long videos are cut in seconds rather than minutes.
Compressed video stores a full picture only every so often, on so-called key frames; the frames in between just describe what changed. A copy-based cut must begin on a key frame, so the cutter snaps your start point to the nearest one. In practice the trimmed clip may begin a fraction of a second earlier than you chose. If you need a tight start, set it a little later than the exact moment and check the preview.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Output format | MP4 |
| Quality loss | None when the video can be copied |
| Segments per cut | One |
| Watermark | Never |
| Upload needed | No, it runs on your device |
The cutter keeps one continuous segment per run. To take out a section in the middle, cut twice: first from the beginning to just before the unwanted part, then from just after it to the end. You will have two clips. Joining clips into one file is not available yet, so this works best when you need separate parts or only one side of the cut.
The video cutter works in up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on Windows, Mac and Linux, and in Chrome or Safari on phones. On an iPhone, open this page in Safari and choose a clip from Photos; on Android, use Chrome and pick a video from your gallery or files. Because nothing is uploaded, speed depends on your device: computers are faster than phones, and files over about 1.5 GB may be slow or fail on a phone because the work happens in its memory.
A desktop editor or a video cutter app is useful when you edit every day, but for a quick trim it means a download, an install and often a watermark or a sign-up screen. A free online video cutter like this one opens instantly in any modern browser, does the same basic job and leaves nothing behind on your device. Because the trimming runs locally instead of on a server, you also skip the upload and download wait that most web-based trimmers need, and you can use it on a work computer where installing software isn’t allowed.
Only cut and share videos that you own or have the right to use.

Usually not. Where possible the cutter copies the video stream without re-encoding, so the trimmed part has the same quality as the original.
To cut without re-encoding, the video has to begin on a key frame. The cutter snaps to the nearest key frame, which can be a fraction of a second before your chosen start.
The cutter keeps one segment at a time. To drop a middle section, cut the part before it and the part after it as two separate clips. Joining clips is not available yet.
Yes. It is free with no sign-up, no daily limit and no watermark on the output.
No. The video cutter works in your browser on PC, Mac, Android and iPhone, so there is nothing to install.
MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and most videos your browser can read. The trimmed clip is saved as MP4.
Trimming removes dead time at the start and end, keeps only the moment you want to share, and makes the file smaller and quicker to send.
