Some clips are too short to enjoy. A five-second funny moment, a product turning on a table, a sunset, a baby laughing: by the time you press play, it is over. A video player can loop a video on your own screen, but when you send the file or post it, it plays once and stops. This tool lets you loop video online and save the result as a new file, so the repeat is part of the video and works everywhere. It is a simple loop video maker: choose a clip, pick how many times it should repeat, and download one longer video. It runs in current Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on phones and computers, it is free with no watermark, and your clip is never uploaded, because the looping happens on your own device.
How does loop video work?
The tool builds a new video and writes your clip into it several times in a row. For each copy, it decodes the frames of your clip and draws them at a later start time: copy 1 starts at 0 s, copy 2 starts at one clip length, copy 3 at two clip lengths, and so on. The frames are encoded again into the new file (H.264 for MP4, MOV and MKV, VP9 for WebM). The output keeps the shape of your clip; if the short side is larger than 1080 pixels, it is scaled down to 1080 (a 4K clip comes out as 1080p).
The sound is decoded once, placed on a timeline at the start of every copy, and saved as 48 kHz stereo at 128 kbps (AAC, or Opus for WebM). The length of the result is the clip length times the number of repeats.
Worked example (our own test, 24 October 2026, Chrome on a desktop): a 4-second clip looped 3× came out as one 12-second video, with the clip playing three times back to back.
How to use
Choose your video
Click the box or drag the clip onto it. You see the file name, size and a preview.
Pick the repeats
Choose 2×, 3×, 4×, 5× or 10× in the Repeat list. 3× is selected by default.
Press Start
The clip is joined to itself that many times. MP4 is the default; open More options to pick MOV, MKV or WebM.
Download
Click Download to save the looped video, or Convert another file to do the next one.
Why VidHaul
Repeat 2× to 10×
Choose 2×, 3×, 4×, 5× or 10×. The clip plays back to back that many times in a single file.
One real file
The loop is built into the video itself, so it repeats on any phone, website or app, not only in one player.
Sound repeats too
The clip’s sound is repeated with every copy of the picture, so it stays in sync from the first loop to the last.
No upload, no watermark
The video is looped on your own device. No account, no logo on the result and no daily limit.
What does loop video mean?
“Loop” means the video starts again from the beginning as soon as it ends, over and over. There are two kinds:
A player loop. YouTube, VLC, PowerPoint and many players have a loop setting. It repeats the video only while you watch it in that player. The file itself does not change.
A looped video file. The repeats are saved inside the video. It keeps repeating when you post it as a status, share it in a chat, put it in a slideshow or play it on a TV, without any setting. That is what this tool makes.
When people ask what loop video means on YouTube, they usually mean the first kind: the player option that replays a video while you watch.
How to loop a video
Click the box at the top of the page or drag your clip onto it.
Open the Repeat list and choose 2×, 3×, 4×, 5× or 10×. 3× is selected by default.
If you need MOV, MKV or WebM instead of MP4, open More options and pick the format.
Press Start. When the progress bar finishes, click Download.
How long will the looped video be?
The new length is the clip length times the repeats. The chart shows a 5-second clip at every option in the list.
Length of a 5-second clip after looping, computed from the settings the tool uses (clip length × repeats). Our measured test: a 4 s clip at 3× gave 12 s.

The file size grows with the length, roughly in step with the repeats, so looping works best on short clips. For YouTube Shorts, YouTube Help says Shorts can be up to 3 minutes long, so a 30-second clip at 5× still fits.
How to loop a video on iPhone
Open this page in Safari or Chrome on your iPhone, tap the file box and choose the clip from your photo library or the Files app. Pick the number of repeats and press Start. When it finishes, tap Download; the video goes to the Downloads folder in Files, and you can save it to Photos from the share menu. The saved video repeats in every app, because the loop is inside the file. Keep the tab on screen while it works.
How to loop a video on Android
Open this page in Chrome, choose the clip from your gallery or file manager, pick the repeats and press Start. The looped video is saved to your Downloads folder. Phones are slower than computers and everything happens in the phone’s memory, so large files (over about 1.5 GB) are better done on a laptop or desktop.
How to loop a video on Instagram Story
Instagram plays a Story once and moves on. To make a short clip repeat inside your Story, loop it here first, for example 3× or 5×, and post the longer file. Check the length in the table above so the result is not longer than you want. If the clip is landscape, fit it into the vertical frame afterwards with resize video (9:16 1080×1920).
How to loop a YouTube video
This tool cannot loop a video on YouTube, because it works only on files saved on your device. To repeat a YouTube video while you watch, use the Loop option in the YouTube player’s menu. If you want a looped copy of your own clip to upload to YouTube, loop the file here first and upload the result.
How to make a loop video that looks smooth
Cut it first. A loop looks smoother when the end of the clip matches the start. Trim the clip to the exact moment with the video cutter before looping.
Back and forth. Make a reversed copy with reverse video, join the normal and reversed clips with the video merger, then loop the result for a boomerang effect with no jump at the seam.
Try slow motion. Slow the clip down with change video speed, then loop it.
Silent loops. If you do not want the sound to repeat, remove it with mute video.
As a GIF. For chats and websites that play GIFs on repeat by themselves, turn the clip into a GIF with video to GIF.
Loop video in PowerPoint, Google Slides or VLC
Presentation apps and players like PowerPoint, Google Slides and VLC have their own loop settings, and those are fine when you control the playback. A looped file is useful when you cannot rely on a setting: on a TV, a digital sign, a shared drive or a device someone else sets up. Make the file here with 10× and it will run for ten rounds without anyone touching it.
How accurate is loop video?
The repeats are exact: each copy starts at a multiple of the clip length, so a 4 s clip at 3× gives 12 s, as in our test. Honest limits:
The seam shows what your clip shows. The tool does not blend the end into the start. If the first and last frames are very different, you see a jump at each repeat.
It re-encodes. Every frame is encoded again at a high quality setting. The result looks very close to the original but is not a bit-for-bit copy.
Size cap. The short side of the output is at most 1080 pixels.
Fixed choices. You can pick 2×, 3×, 4×, 5× or 10×. There is no option for a target length such as “exactly 60 seconds”.
Sound length. If a clip’s sound track is a little shorter than its picture, a short silence can appear before each repeat.
Why this tool is different
Most online loop video makers upload your file to their server, loop it there and send it back, often with a size limit or a watermark on the free plan. VidHaul uses the WebCodecs API, the video engine built into modern browsers, to decode and encode the frames on your own device, and the browser’s audio engine to repeat the sound. Nothing is uploaded, and once you have pressed Start, the work keeps going even without an internet connection.
The result is predictable: clip length times repeats, the same shape as your clip, sound in sync with every copy. The tool does only this job. It does not add transitions, change the speed or touch the colours, so what you put in is exactly what repeats.
What we measure
We test with real files in a real browser. For loop video we check that the output length equals clip length times repeats: a 4-second clip at 3× came out at 12 seconds. The chart and the length table are not measurements; they are computed from the same rule, so they hold for any clip.
What we do not measure: we do not score visual quality, and we do not publish processing times, because they depend on your device. The result card shows the file size before and after, and Copy summary copies those numbers for your notes.
